Day 1: Happenings around here as we head into the last half of this year. Here it is only the first day of August, I can hardly believe I’m already thinking about autumn and the holiday season. And for the record, I am a summer girl all the way! Sun and heat and lazy days…sigh!
But last September, we found we would be able to move. It was what we had prayed for, but it came out of the blue. Not on my radar- so the purging, sorting, and boxing began. With a January 1 move in date, I didn’t even get to put my Christmas tree or decorations up. I know, boo hoo! but it’s all good! (I may put my tree up in October this year, just to make up for it!)
I feel like this year, I have savored every season. The spring – the buds, even the rain, yellowy green shoots poking through brown mud… Then onto summer! Glorious sunshine and heat, flowers and fresh fruit, long twilight evenings and mountain sunsets.
But this year, surprising even myself, I’m enjoying the bloggers and influencers showcasing fun fall and halloween decor in shops as I browse through recipes for baking and stewing. Can I say it out loud? I’ve already bought some Christmas presents.
I don’t even recognize me! I usually grasp every last bit of summer in my tight fists long into September! I generally refuse to pull out the sweaters and boots till the cold has officially settled..but maybe not this year.
That all said, mostly I’m aiming to have 100 days of consistent posting here… so many fun projects and thoughts already in the works, hopefully some things new to you that you’ll have fun trying. And some things I keep wanting to share.
So, thank you so much for stopping by! Let’s create, cook, reminisce and chat…I do appreciate you stopping by!
